Planning Downfalls – Julie Pottorff Photography, Flora, IL
Sometimes photo shoots don’t always go as planned. Take this one, for instance. I had a super cute setup to shoot a portrait for my daughter’s 21 month birthday (yes, we really are stretching this monthly “birthdays” out!). I had a vision of her sitting nicely in a chair with the sunset behind her. It was going to be pure perfection! True to my daughter, this is the photo I ended up with.
You see, in life, things don’t always go as planned. You just have to sit back and embrace the change. The day I was put on strict bedrest during my pregnancy (at only 25 weeks along), I bawled. Not only was I upset about having to tell my boss that I was going to be out of work for the next 5 months, but I was thinking, “what in the world am I going to do for the next 15 weeks??”. Well, as most of you know, I spent that time studying everything I could get my hands on about photography. As it turns out, I am extremely grateful for the time I spent on bed rest. Not only did I get a beautiful, healthy baby girl, but I deepened my love for photography 🙂 When life gives you lemons, make lemonade (ahem, or margaritas)!
